Pernilla Meyersson appointed Alternate Executive Director at the IMF

The Riksbank has in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance nominated Pernilla Meyersson as the new Alternate Executive Director at the office of the Nordic-Baltic constituency at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). As the Alternate Executive Director she will, together with the Executive Director, represent the Nordic and Baltic countries on the Executive Board of the IMF in Washington D.C. and lead the work at the constituency office.

 

Pernilla Meyersson holds a master's degree in economics and has studied international relations at the London School of Economics. She has been Director of Communications at the Riksbank since 2006. Prior to this she has been head of the Division for Financial Market Analysis, head of the Division for Economic Policy Analysis and head of the Division for EU Economic and Monetary Cooperation at the Monetary Policy Department of the Riksbank.

 

Pernilla Meyersson has been nominated to act as Alternate Executive Director at the IMF for a period of three years, beginning in January 2013.

The Riksbank is the Swedish liaison body vis-à-vis the IMF and coordinates Sweden's stances together with the Ministry of Finance.

 

Sweden is a member of the Nordic-Baltic constituency, which comprises eight countries. In the period 2013-2015, Norway will hold the post of Executive Director and Sweden the post of Alternate Executive Director.
