On 12 November 2007 the Riksbank signed an agreement with the coin supplier Mint of Finland Ltd. This agreement was preceded by a selective procedure pursuant to the Swedish Public Procurement Act.
The agreement covers the manufacture and delivery of coins, the production of possible n new coins and an option for the destruction of coins. The agreement applies until 31 December 2010. After that the Riksbank has the option of extending the agreement one year at a time, a maximum of three times. The first delivery of coins is expected to take place during the first half of 2008. Mint of Finland Ltd owns AB Myntverket in Eskilstuna.
