Riksbank prolongs swap agreement with Latvian central bank

The Riksbank has decided to prolong the swap agreement entered into with the Latvian central bank, Latvijas Banka, in December last year.

 

The swap agreement gives Latvijas Banka the right to borrow up to EUR 500 million against Latvian lats if and when the need arises. The swap agreement constitutes short-term funding to contribute to safeguarding macroeconomic and financial stability in Latvia. The agreement with Latvijas Banka was prolonged in May this year.
