Two new members appointed to the Committee investigating the Riksbank's purchases of gold

The Riksbank has appointed two new members to the Committee set up to examine the Riksbank's archives and report on any records of purchases of gold from Germany during the World War Two.

The new members are Harry Flame, professor of international economics, Stockholm, and Ingvar Pramhäll, authorized public account, Stockholm. These will join former Justice of the Supreme Court Jan Heuman, who was appointed earlier. Associate Judges of Appeal Peder Bjursten and Christel Lundmark are acting as secretaries to the inquiry.

Now that the inquiry has been in progress for over a month, it has been considered necessary to strengthen the Committe by bringing in economic expertise. This is the reason for appointing a professor of international economics and an authorized public accountant to the Committee.

The Committee is expected to conclude its assignment in August or September 1997.
