Two managerial senior advisors appointed

Today the Riksbank has decided to appoint Göran Lind and Kerstin Mitlid as senior advisors to the Riksbank's managerial body.

Göran Lind has been responsible since 1996 for the coordination of the Riksbank's international work on matters to do with financial stability. In the period 1975-90 he worked in the Riksbank's International Secretariat and represented the Riksbank at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington in 1979-81. Mr. Lind is a member of a number of international committees, including the Basle Committee for Banking Supervision.

Kerstin Mitlid has in recent years headed the analytical work at the Riksbank's Monetary and Exchange Rate Policy Department. In the period 1978-92 she worked in the Economics Department, where for several years she was responsible for the Riksbank's short-run forecasts. In the past year Ms. Mitlid has been involved in the preparations for the eventuality of EMU membership. She is also engaged as an expert in the inquiry into central government borrowing.
