Improvements to individual systems and Swedish law may strengthen the financial infrastructure

The financial infrastructure in Sweden functions well. However, improvements to the individual systems and to Swedish legislation may further strengthen the structure. These are among the findings of the new annual Financial Infrastructure Report.
In summary, the Riksbank considers that:
RIX, Bankgirot, Euroclear Sweden and NASDAQ OMX Clearing need to improve their operations in various areas, including availability and contingency routines
the Swedish systems must comply with international standards
the systems must develop recovery plans to safeguard their survival
Swedish legislation needs to be reviewed to remedy deficiencies in finality to comply with the finality directive
