Lars E.O. Svensson appointed Foreign Honorary Member of the American Economic Association

Deputy Governor Lars E.O. Svensson has been appointed Foreign Honorary Member of the American Economic Association (AEA). This membership is awarded to particularly prominent foreign economists at the discretion of the AEA Executive Committee. The only other Swede to have been appointed a Foreign Honorary Member of the AEA is Professor Assar Lindbeck. The AEA is a highly-reputed association for professional economists with its head office in Nashville, Tennessee. It publishes the academic journal the American Economic Review, among other publications. The purpose of the association is to encourage economic research and promote discussion of economics.
