RIX payment system now operating normally
The Riksbank has localised and resolved the problem that caused yesterday’s operational disruptions in the RIX payment system. The disruption was caused by a problem in the part of the Riksbank 's internal network that analyses data communications. The RIX system has been operating normally since Saturday, which means that all transactions between banks can now be effected without any delay.
The Riksbank has taken all necessary measures to ensure that the system can operate normally on Monday.
Payments between RIX-participants that could not be effected on Friday due to the disruption were made on Saturday instead.
After contacting the banks, the Riksbank has understood that the value date for payments that should have been effected on Friday but instead took place on Saturday, will be Friday; that is to say, the payment will be recorded as if it had been effected on Friday.
