The benefits of regulation outweigh the costs. This was the conclusion of Governor Stefan Ingves on Thursday evening in a speech at an international conference on the effects of the new international regulation for banks and financial markets. The conference was organised by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

In his speech, Mr Ingves gave his views on the overall benefits of regulation. Mr Ingves also talked about what he regards as the major challenges in financial regulation going forward.
