Renewed mandate for Stefan Ingves in the European Systemic Risk Board
Stefan Ingves has been re-elected chairman of the Advisory Technical Committee of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) for a further three-year period.
"I look forward to actively contributing to the work on macroprudential policy at EU level also in the future by continuing my work as chairman of the ESRB's Advisory Technical Committee," commented Stefan Ingves.
Stefan Ingves was appointed chairman of the Advisory Technical Committee when the ESRB was established in 2011. The renewed assignment as chairman means that Mr Ingves will remain on the Steering Committee that prepares for the General Board meetings and oversees the day-to-day work. In addition, he is a member of the General Board of the ESRB.
The ESRB has the task of identifying risks to financial stability within the EU and issuing warnings or recommendations in the case of significant risks. The Advisory Technical Committee analyses most of the issues on the ESRB's agenda and prepares them for decisions by the ESRB General Board.
Stefan Ingves has also been chairman of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, which draws up international regulations and standards for banks, since 2011.
