Coin to commemorate the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling

The Riksbank is issuing a commemorative coin to celebrate the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling on 19 June 2010. A silver coin will be issued in the denomination of SEK 300 and a gold coin in the denomination of SEK 4,000. The designer is Ernst Nordin.


The obverse of the coin shows a portrait of the bride and groom and the text “KRONPRINSESSAN VICTORIA PRINS DANIEL” (Crown Princess Victoria Prince Daniel) as well as the date of the wedding, 19 June 2010.

  

The reverse carries the Crown Princess Victoria’s coat of arms. Below this appears the text “SVERIGE” (Sweden), the denomination of the coin, the initials of the Governor of the Riksbank Stefan Ingves (“SI”) and the first letter of the place of issue Stockholm ("S"). Butterflies are also depicted on the reverse, an image that represents joy and happiness, and also the bridal pair's future home, Haga Palace.

  

The coins will be sold at nominal value and the edition will be unlimited.
The coins can be ordered from AB Myntverket in Eskilstuna via its website www.myntverket.se, by telephone +46-(0)-16 42 81 00, or by fax +46-(0)-16 42 81 20. The issue will be available until 31 December 2010.

The coin will be shown at a press meeting held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday 11 May at the Royal Coin Cabinet/Sweden’s National Museum of Economy. The designer, Ernst Nordin, will also be there.
