Date 05/02/2004
At its meeting today, the Executive Board of the Riksbank appointed Jörgen Eklund chief press officer. This is a new post and entails an extension of the Communications Department's press service. The reason for the new post is that the Riksbank's external communications have increased in scope. Mr Eklund has worked as advisor to the governors of the Riksbank since 2000. Prior to that, he worked as a journalist at Finanstidningen newspaper and on the Ekot radio programme. Mr Eklund will take up his new post on 1 April 2004. The press service will then consist of a chief press officer and a press officer.
