Distribution of work in the Executive Board

At its meeting today, the Executive Board decided on the following distribution of assignments between its members.


Lars Heikensten is Governor of the Riksbank and Chairman of the Executive Board. Mr Heikensten is responsible for drafting matters from the Secretariat of the Executive Board, together with the Chief Legal Counsellor, and for matters arising from the Internal Auditing Department. Mr Heikensten is a member of the ECB General Council and a member of the board of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). He is also Sweden's governor in the International Monetary Fund (IMF).


Eva Srejber is First Deputy Governor and responsible for drafting matters from the International Department, the IT Department and the Market Operations Department, as well as for coordinating the preparations by the Riksbank and the financial sector for a potential Eurosystem membership. In addition, Mrs Srejber is the Governor's substitute in the ECB General Council and a member of the EU's Economic and Financial Committee.


Villy Bergström is Deputy Governor and responsible for drafting matters from the Research Department and the Communications Department, as well as for drafting the Riksbank's responses to submissions. Mr Bergström is also a member of the OECD's WP3 Committee.


Lars Nyberg is Deputy Governor and responsible for drafting matters from the Financial Stability Department and the Risk Management Department. Mr Nyberg is also Chairman of the Board of Svensk Kontantförsörjning AB and a member of the board of Crane AB (previously AB Tumba Bruk). He is also a government-appointed member of the board of Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority) and the Riksbank's representative in the G10 cooperation at deputy central bank governor level.


Kristina Persson is Deputy Governor and responsible for drafting matters from the Administration Department. Mrs Persson is also the Governor's substitute in the IMF.


Irma Rosenberg is Deputy Governor and responsible for drafting matters from the Monetary Policy Department and for matters concerning the ownership of the Riksbank's subsidiaries. Mrs Rosenberg is also the Governor's substitute in the Bank for International Settlements.
