A comment from the Governor of the Riksbank

"Owing to certain circumstances, I would like to make it perfectly clear that I have received no request, neither officially nor unofficially, regarding assignments with party political connections as has been implied in the past few days. The Riksbank's position as an independent institution is extremely important to me and the bank as a whole and must not be questioned. Therefore, I find it sad and unpleasant to be drawn into the election debate as has been the case, in the form of newspaper interviews and press releases."
