The Riksbank in Malmö 18-21 April
In connection with the informal ECOFIN meeting in Malmö on 18-21 April, the Riksbank will be taking part in a number of events organised in the city. The Ministry of Finance, the Riksbank and Malmö City are together organising special theme days for the general public in Gustaf Adolfs Torg. Here, the Riksbank will provide information on Swedish monetary policy, the financial market and the role of the Riksbank in society. In addition, the Riksbank will take part in lectures given to students of economics at Lund and Malmö universities, as well as a breakfast meeting with representatives of local trade and industry.
- Theme days: On Friday 20 April Deputy Governor of the Riksbank Lars Nyberg will give a speech under the heading "An integrated finance market - in Sweden and in the EU" at 12.15 pm in Gustaf Adolfs Torg and at 5 pm he will give a speech under the heading "Do integrated finance markets have a positive effect on growth?"
On Saturday 21 April Deputy Governor of the Riksbank Villy Bergström will give a speech under the heading "The effect of EU enlargement on the Swedish economy" at 12 noon.
Representatives of the Riksbank will also be available in Skånelängan on Gustaf Adolfs Torg, Wednesday-Friday 11 am-6 pm and Saturday 11 am-2 pm.
- Lectures for economics students: On Thursday 19 April, 1 pm-4 pm, Claes Berg, Head of the Monetary Policy Department at the Riksbank, will give a lecture for 500 students at the School of Economics, Lund University, on the subject "Swedish monetary policy and the Swedish economy from a global perspective".
On 20 April, 9.30 am-11.30 am Deputy Governor of the Riksbank Lars Nyberg will give a lecture for 300 students at Malmö University on the subject "The role of the Riksbank in society".
- Breakfast meeting: On Friday 20 April, at 8 am, Governor of the Riksbank Urban Bäckström will give a speech at a breakfast meeting for representatives of local trade and industry at the Scandic Hotel Triangeln in Malmö. This is organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Southern Sweden in collaboration with Malmö City.
