Lars Nyberg re-appointed to Executive Board for six years

At the Thursday meeting the Governing Council of the Riksbank decided to re-appoint Deputy Governor Lars Nyberg to the Executive Board for a term of six years, that is, up to 31 December 2005.

 

‘Following an assessment, the Governing Council has found that in the past year Lars Nyberg has made a satisfactory contribution and we have chosen to appoint him for a new term,’ say Council Chairman and Vice Chairman, Sven Hulterström and Johan Gernandt, in a joint statement.

 

When the new Executive Board was set up almost a year ago, Mr. Nyberg’s appointment was for one year. He is a Deputy Governor and will continue to be responsible for matters to do with the payment system, the Riksbank’s companies and submissions, besides having international functions in the field of oversight and system stability.
