The Riksbank has strongly committed employees

The Riksbank has strongly committed employees in an effective organisation, according to the annual employee survey that, this year, was conducted in September.
The Riksbank's employees are committed to their work. The factors that have the greatest impact on their commitment are competence development and the opportunity to try new tasks. A clear majority of the employees also feel that their skills, know-how and expertise are used to the full. Confidence in line managers and the senior management is high. Nine out of ten employees have a high level of confidence in the Governor of the Riksbank, Stefan Ingves. As in the three earlier employee surveys, participation in this year’s survey was very high – 93 per cent.
"It is a challenge to maintain these excellent results and an additional challenge to develop the organisation towards even higher commitment on the part of the employees," says Maria Wahl, Head of the Personnel Division. The clearest area for improvement relates to individual objectives, where it is primarily the follow-up of these objectives that is important, that is ensuring that the dialogue on objectives is ongoing.
The departments and divisions will now discuss the results and work on the areas that need to be developed.
How the survey was conducted
The Riksbank conducts an employee survey every year to identify areas for improvement in the working environment. The 2009 employee survey was in the form of a web-based questionnaire completed in September. The survey was carried out by Synovate.
