Since 1999, the Riksbank has been party to an agreement with other central banks that regulates the sale of gold, the Central Bank Gold Agreement (CBGA). The previous agreements have been successful and have contributed to increased transparency regarding the central banks' gold sales. The participating central banks have therefore agreed to extend the agreement, which will now run for five years from and including 27 September 2014.
