Riksbank to build new cash management office

The Executive Board of the Riksbank decided on 5 February to build a new cash management office in Broby, which is in Sigtuna municipality north of Stockholm. The plan is for the new office to begin operations at the end of 2012/beginning of 2013. The decision also means that the operations at the current cash management offices in Mölndal and Tumba will be wound up in connection with the completion of the new office.

One reason for building a new office is that the recent restructuring in cash management has reduced the Riksbank’s activities in this field and two offices are no longer necessary. In addition, the new cash management office will be suitably adapted to future operations and security requirements.
