Luis Jacome has been working on macroprudential issues since 2010. Initially, he was part of an IMF team that developed principles to support effective institutional arrangements. Findings have been shared with several country officials both in advanced and emerging economies. More recently, his focus has been on how to operationalize macroprudential policies. Specifically, Jacome led a project that aimed at learning lessons from country experiences in implementing loan-to-value and debt service-to-income ratios in a sample of countries comprised of emerging markets and newly industrialized countries.
