Stefan Ingves tillträdde som riksbankschef och ordförande i direktionen den 1 januari 2006 med en mandatperiod på sex år. Ingves mandatperiod har förlängts två gånger (6 år + 5 år) och löper fram till och med 2022-12-31.

 

Stefan Ingves är ekonomie doktor. Tidigare har Stefan bland annat varit chef för avdelningen för monetära och finansiella system på IMF, vice riksbankschef och generaldirektör vid Bankstödsnämnden. Dessförinnan var han bland annat finansråd och chef för finansmarknadsavdelningen på Finansdepartementet.
